Frequently Asked Questions

How does the ordering process work?

Ordering is simple. Choose meals à la carte, build your own bag, or select from one of our curated offerings.

Meals are prepared in small batches, and delivery typically occurs within 3–7 days of ordering, depending on availability. If we’re able to accommodate a sooner or later delivery, we’ll be in touch to confirm.

What areas do you currently serve, and what are your delivery days?

Portare currently delivers throughout Palm Beach and Martin Counties, with delivery outside these areas — including Broward and Miami-Dade Counties — available upon request.

Once your order is confirmed, delivery typically occurs within 3–7 days, depending on availability. When possible, deliveries are grouped by area to reduce travel and support a more environmentally mindful approach.

How much is delivery?

Jupiter, Tequesta, and Juno Beach: $5 delivery

Northern Palm Beach County: $10 delivery

West Palm Beach to Boca Raton: $40 delivery deposit is required. Depending on the number of deliveries scheduled in the area, the final delivery cost may be reduced. In some cases, delivery may be completed using Uber Courier, which may increase the final cost.

Broward and Miami-Dade Counties: Delivery may be available upon request but is subject to availability. A delivery deposit will be required, and the final cost will depend on distance and courier availability.

Are your meals suitable for specific dietary restrictions or preferences?

All meals are prepared gluten-free and dairy-free, with the exception of the frittata. The menu includes both meat-based and vegetarian/vegan options and is built around whole, minimally processed ingredients.

Because meals are prepared in small batches, we may not be able to accommodate all individual dietary restrictions or allergies. If you have a specific concern, you’re always welcome to reach out before ordering.

Are your meals Certified Gluten Free?

Portare is not a certified gluten-free kitchen. However, all meals are prepared using ingredients that are inherently gluten-free or certified gluten-free (such as the oats and ramen used in select dishes).

While we carefully source ingredients and avoid gluten-containing products, the kitchen operates within a facility where gluten may be present. Those with severe gluten allergies or celiac disease are encouraged to reach out before ordering.

How are the meals packaged, and how long do they last?

Meals are packaged in eco-friendly containers with a bio-based lining and are freezer safe. Containers are not microwave safe.

Meals are frozen shortly after preparation and can be stored in the freezer for 2–3 months for best quality. While properly frozen meals can last longer, we recommend enjoying them within this timeframe for optimal flavor and texture.

Once thawed, meals should be consumed within 3–4 days when stored in the refrigerator.

Can I customize my meal plan or make changes to my order?

Certainly! For customized meal plans, use the Build Your Own Bundle or à la carte options.

What is the best way to heat up meals?

The best and recommended way to heat our meals is on the stovetop.

For thawed meals: Add a splash of water or broth to a pot and heat for 3–5 minutes on medium to low heat, or until warmed through.

For frozen meals: Make a small incision in the container and peel back the seal (similar to crescent roll packaging). Remove the frozen meal and place it in a pot with 2–4 tablespoons of water or broth. Cover with a lid and heat on medium to low, allowing the liquid to gently simmer until the meal is heated through.

While the containers are not microwave safe, we also generally recommend reheating on the stovetop, as it preserves the texture and quality of the meal.
